Can you read this and criticize it?
I was waiting for a passenger in my New York City cab listening to the 1941 world series Yankees vs Dodgers game 2. When two men in black suits, jumped in with tommy guns. " What’s going on?" I said.
The two men said " Drive fast, " said the one of the men " Get away from the cops." So I drove I heard sirens a few blocks away from where I was so I turned on 24th street and headed for Little Italy. I was in Midtown so I kept looking for the Police. "Go on the Manhattan bridge take us to Brooklyn. I saw flashing. The police. Shoots rang out the men put the windows down and shot back. I was scared.
The police car stopped no more gun shots. I guessed they had died or didn’t want to endanger themselves. How did the cops know there were mobsters in my taxi could have been anybody in this cab. The other guy said "Stop!" We were in the middle of the Manhattan bridge but they got out and gave me an envelope. I opened it when they left there was $200 dollars in it and this trip would have only costed $20. There was a notee attached.
Do not talk to the cops or else we will hunt you down and kill you. We will probably call on you again look out for us and be careful. The cops shouldn’t know where we are and how we got where ever we are going. Take care.
I drove off I was headed home I lived in Brooklyn so it wasn’t far from where I was. I planned not to tell my my boss about this fare. When I got home I went to sleep. I was thinking in my head why did they choose to come in my car. Should I tell the police will the actually kill me if I do? What did they mean by they will call on me again? I knew they were part of the mob most likely the Lomabardo family because they had a compound in Brooklyn and that is where they wanted to go. But then why did they tell me to stop in the middle of the bridge. I was confused. I fell right into a deep sleep.
The next day I went to my boss (It was pay day). "What happened last night you were supposed to come back and report your hours." asked my boss. I had forgot all about that because I had been working for about 6 hours last night and was supposed to give him my money I earned then get a cut of it. "Your going to get a cut because you didn’t report your hours or give me the money you earned."
"I did 6 hours of work last night and had earned about $197" I answered him. I didn’t tell him about the extra $200 and luckily I had forgot to empty any cash out of my pockets so I had all the money I earned.
"Alright well forget about your cut you can get your $300 for your weeks work," he said " I would have gave you about $200 but you work the longest and earn the most money here." He gave me the money and I took it and I left. But before I could leave he said "You look tired why don’t you go get some sleep."
I said "Yea I’ll try too." I was tired but wanted the money because I had to pay my $150 dollar rent today. I am a 6 foot Italian American with black eyes and black hair. I was 25 hoping to get a better career than a cab because I would be drafted if I didn’t. I drove the cab back to my house went to hide the money I had earned.
After that I went for a drink at a bar. I had about two drinks when shots were fired outside it was the police trying to get a mobster and for once they succed but it was only a few police officers about 5. The rest were to scared that their family would be murdered if they went against the Mafia. The Mafia ruled New York City all they did was have to pay the sergeants or threaten anybodys family and everything was okay.
I drank till I had spent about $50. I finally went home it was about 12:00 in the night. I opened my door it was already open. Did I forget to lock the door? I was freaking out, I went inside I saw nobody there so I feel asleep.
When I got up I found a note on my fridge. Come to the place you droped us off we will be waiting be there at 12:00pm. I had guessed it was from the mobsters. Should I go? Why do they want me there?
After I asked myself these questions I could not answer them.It was about 11:00pm so I made my breakfast and left at 11:35pm. I arrived at 11:55pm but they were there. Two mobsters in black suits with no guns this time though. "Hello."one of them had said. "We are glad you came we knew you would come."
"Nice to see you two again." I had said.
"You have done us a favor and we will return it soon enough."
"I thought you did by giving me the money."
"That is not enough to give you after you had saved us and didn’t tell anything to the law." He answered.
"What can you do for me?" I was confused.
"We are here to see if you would like to be our Associate."
"Who are you?"
"Oh yes, I forgot to introduce myself I am Alfonso a capo of the Lomabardo family and you are?"
"You want me to join the mafia and you don’t know who I am?"
"Of course we know who you are Anthony Gallo who works with the NYC taxi and is their best driver." He answered without hesitation.
"How did you k

"Yes I will be apart of the Lomabardo family."
"That is what I like to hear," he said "Follow me."
He went it his car a drove I got into the taxi and went after him. Why did I say yes to join the family? My parents were always great believers in the law since they came to America. I never new what had happened in Sicily though. Maybe that is why the mobsters had come after me.
The plot is very good and I this could quite a good story but you need to get your tense right is it in the past or present??? And maybe you need to describe what the characters look like more. Maybe ask someone (if you know someone) who is good at creative writing. It needs improving but keep the plot it was quite interesting to read
